TYPE DESIGN

For the '36 days of type' challenge in 2021, I wanted to create a display typeface that would be available for download at the end of the challenge. The original design idea for the typeface came to me when I was designing a logo for a brand starting from the letter C. Then I created a few other letters to make the name of the brand. I discarded the route using this logo in the end, but I then decided to complete the alphabet with the same style and create a full typeface.

Here is the 'Chonky' typeface. It's only upper case letters, numbers and a few symbols, but a couple of letters have alternates. Scroll to the bottom to download it for free.
