SKY ONE

role

Graphic Designer

Design the Key Art of the new Sky Original ‘Roald & Beatrix: The tail of the curious mouse’, starting from this proposition: ‘The magical story of an unlikely encounter between a young child and his hero’.

When it comes to talking about Beatrix Potter and Roald Dahl, child memories come up, with a sense of feeling their books’ magic again. The Sky One Original is a film inspired by the actual encounter between the two authors.

For the Key Art, I imagined the story to come out from a book that could have been written by the two writers. And to perfect the magic feeling, the scene is set in England’s hills with a touch of a Christmassy/winter look.

I was the Senior Designer on the project, working with the creative team on the key art concept.

BACKGROUND

Starting from the end board of the movie, I created a graphic background set in England's hills. Working with the retouching team, we gave the scene a more Christmassy look.

BOOK SPINE

Taking inspirations from the Penguin Classics collection, I designed a few variants that were tested against different colour combinations. The final choice was for a festive red book with a creamy colour for the illustration.
